If you are fitting an uprated differential to your Mini Cooper S R53 or R56 it is highly recommended you replace the bearings.
 
To Install a differential requires two bearings. These taper roller bearings will fit with the Cusco LSD, Quaife ATB, Blackline, Wavetrac etc. differentials as well as the standard Cooper S diff. Fitting new bearings is simpler than trying to remove the original items which do get damaged during the process.
